Route: village walk and castle ruins, hike to a Romanesque chapel, aperitif with local products, return with headlamp.

A legendary Corsican summit for hikers seeking elevation gain and spectacular scenery. A demanding but carefully guided itinerary, with strong focus on safety, pacing and mountain awareness.

Season: June to September.
Format: 2-day trek for fit hikers, overnight near the refuge.
Refuge: Ciottulu di i Mori Refuge (highest refuge in Corsica).
Day 1: approach hike (~700 m ascent), possible swim, arrival at the refuge early afternoon.
Optional: evening viewpoint walk around the refuge (weather and group condition permitting).
Day 2: ascent of Paglia Orba (technical sections, 2–2.5 h climb) + ~600 m ascent, then descent via the refuge.
Level: challenging – excellent physical condition required.
Equipment: hiking boots, water, windproof jacket, warm layer, sleeping bag (night around 2000 m, bivouac near the refuge).
Good to know: tents with ground mats provided (no need to bring one).
